WSU Bookstore Lean Process Improvement

	This initiative applied the lean process improvement model to the bookstore text ordering process. A team was assembled to collect relevant data and map the process and to identify areas that did not add value to the process, were time-consuming, prone to rework or just plain frustrating. As a result of their work a new on-line ordering system and online textbook requisition form were developed. The system was piloted and used for ordering textbooks for fall semester. Participants in the initiative reported that they were pleased with the lean process and the pilot requisition form.
