From 1860-1971, the Phelps Laboratory School served K-9 students from the Winona community. This SIA project was an expansion on a previous project which involved the creation of a "Phelps Laboratory Project: Living History Project" video of faculty who formerly taught at the School.

Through this SIA award, two additional videos were created. "Phelps Laboratory School: The Students" involved a five-person panel discussion by five former Phelps students who graduated from the 9th grade in 1965. They visited Phelps and shared their memories of attending classes there. The other video, Phelps Laboratory School & the Public: A Collection of Stories" included former students and teachers telling of their fondest memories of attending and teaching at the School.

In tandem with creating the videos, participants planned a Phelps All-School Reunion for September 5, 2008, as part of WSU's ongoing Sesquicentennial celebration. Proceeds from the reunion will support a Phelps-WSU College of Education Scholarship.

The videos will be available through the WSU Media Center
