UCR Lean Process Improvement on Communication/Information Flow

	This Special Initiative Award project was a continuation of an SIA team effort initiated in Fall 2006 to identify barriers to providing students integrated services among the three institutions at Rochester Center. In Spring 2007, two facilitators from WSU's Winona campus worked with representatives from the Winona State University Center-Rochester, the Rochester Community and Technical College, and the University of Minnesota Rochester to analyze the paper and electronic communications between and within each of the institutions. The project resulted in a a new structure for the many existing cross-instituional committees that had formed over the years. Some of these groups have already tackled issues previously identified as problematic. Participants have responded favorably to the new practices, and development of a more formal, long-term assessment plan is underway For details on the new structure, see the "UCR Lean Process Improvement" report online.
