Outcome Goals, Objectives, And Indicators

GOAL 14 - STUDENT LEARNING: Students will demonstrate the WSU “Q10” knowledge, skills, attitudes, and appreciations that represent what all students should know and be able to do as candidates for graduation.

OBJECTIVES

Students will

14.1 - Demonstrate higher order thinking by understanding and applying the principles of critical and creative thinking, systematic decision making, and methodical problem solving.

14.2 - Understand and appreciate the interrelationships among world nations, peoples, and cultures for developing a global perspective.

14.3 - Comprehend and appreciate the diversity among American and world cultures for developing a multicultural perspective.

14.4 - Understand and apply the knowledge and skills needed for scientific and quan- titative literacy.

14.5 -Demonstrate the professional knowledge, skills, and ethical standards for successful performance in the workplace.

14.6 -Apply responsible citizenship attitudes and abilities in university and community settings.

14.7 -Communicate effectively by applying refined abilities in writing, speaking, reading, and listening.

14.8 -Demonstrate information literacy by using information processing systems and computer technology, analyzing and synthesizing information, and retrieving technology-based information.

GOAL 15 - STUDENT GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT: Students will demonstrate personal, physical, and social growth as developed through formal and informal learning communities, co-curricular activities, and academic service programs.

GOAL 17 - REGIONAL SERVICE: The university will fulfill its commitment to the citizens and organizations of Minnesota by providing leadership, expertise, resources, and continuing education opportunities.

17.1 - Meet off-campus instructional and continuing education needs.

17.2 - Fulfill a leadership role in consortia and other cooperative relationships with area organizations.

17.3 - Share professional expertise and resources with private business and research organizations to enhance educational and employment opportunities.

GOAL 18 - UNIVERSITY STATURE: The university will achieve recognition for academic quality with programs that meet external standards of excellence, by qualifying for public and private grants, and through the professional achievements of faculty, staff, and administrators.

OBJECTIVES

18.1 - Offer graduate and undergraduate programs that meet accreditation, certification, and licensure standards.

18.2 - Recognize faculty, staff, and administrators who hold leadership positions in state, regional, national, and international organizations.

18.3 - Encourage faculty, staff, and administrators to present at state, regional, national, and international conferences/conventions.

18.4 - Recognize faculty, staff, and administrators who receive special awards, recommendations, and other types of recognition for outstanding achievement.

18.5 - Qualify for grants and special funding from public and private organizations.

18.6 - Demonstrate a reputation as a quality institution among students, alumni, community members, and other constituencies.
