Welcome to all new Winona State University students! For some years, Winona State University has stood for the principle that as a student-centered campus, we are determined to focus our activities around you, the heart of our learning community.
Equally as important, we want to be able to demonstrate that we are making a difference in your lives. To provide the proof that Winona State creates change and growth for you, we have devised a number of strategies to assess or measure your progress through the university. Because it is so vitally important for you, your parents, prospective employers and the community at large to see the extent of your progress, we have devised a number of assessment opportunities for you throughout your college career.
This pamphlet highlights the six specific assessment activities on campus. You will certainly participate in at least one of these events; many of you will engage in more of them. None of these activities are particularly time consuming, but they are extremely important milestones for you to mark your academic and professional progress.
Therefore, let me welcome you as a participant in the assessment activities at Winona State University. May you continue to grow and develop to your fullest capacity.
