Assessment Expectations

Your First Year Experience

During your first year at Winona State, you will participate in several assessment activities. The first of these is called the Incoming Student Survey, which you completed at the time you registered for classes for the fall semester. Also at Registration, you took both a math and English placement examination which we used to help place you in your classes.

On Assessment Day (during Spring Semester), First Year Students will participate in Focus Group Discussions which will help us understand what you liked at didn't like about Winona State.

Twice during your first year we will ask you to log on the Assessment WWW page and complete a series of suveys. This data will allow us to assess every area of the university and discover your ideas for making it better.
