Assessment Expectations

Sophomore Year
In the sophomore year, we are particularly interested in how we are doing in meeting your needs and also testing your success in the general education area.

Twice during your sophomore year we will ask you to log on the Assessment WWW page and complete a series of suveys pertaining to General Education. This data will allow us to understand your perceptions of the General Education Program and whether or not we're achieving our goals in this area.

During the spring semester we will administer a general education examination. The idea of this testing is so that you will be confident of your skills, knowledge and values from general education. By this point in your career, you will have taken most of these required courses, and should have acquired the basic skills and information necessary for you to pursue your major successfully. This exam will also give both you and Winona State a sense of how you compare to sophomores from all over the country.
