Faculty & Staff FAQ's

Students have many career-related concerns—identifying occupations of interest for their majors, locating internships and summer jobs, and finding employment opportunities after graduation. The Warrior Success Center (WSC) Career Services team in Maxwell 314 connects students of all majors (from first-year students to seniors) with the information they need through services, programs, events, print materials, and job posting information. We offer this list of FAQ’s to address the questions we hear most often from faculty and staff.

You can request a presentation using the online form or by calling the WSC front desk to discuss your options.  We cover a wide variety of career development topics.  Consider a career services speaker when you must miss a class because of a personal or professional commitment.
Our most recent Graduate Success Reports are available online.  If you need additional information, we have 10 years of follow-up studies on file for you to review in our Maxwell 314 office.
Students are encouraged to meet with a career advisor one-on-one to review their draft resumes. We help students strengthen and better organize their resumes, target them to the interests of employers, and increase success in gaining interviews. Samples of resumes and related resources are available online and in the Career Services library (Maxwell 314). Students can use the online scheduler or call 507.457.5878 to set up an appointment.
Warrior Jobs is Winona State’s resources to help students find part-time and summer work, internships, student help, and work-study jobs. Positions range from child care and food service to career-related jobs on- and off-campus. Annual job/career fairs are great opportunities to network with employers for internships. Dates for upcoming career events are also available through Warrior Jobs.

All on-campus interviews are managed using Warrior Jobs. Step-by-step instructions to apply for these jobs are provided on the Career Services Guide for Effective Interviewing page. Announcements about employers coming to campus are emailed directly to students and are posted on the Career Services website and Facebook page.
