Technology Excellence Fellowship program sponsors interns through the US-Israel Science and Technology Foundation. Deadline April 17.

Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana at the School of Business Administration at the University of Evansville offers resident fellowships. No web site given. Contact Robert A. The John W. Kluge Center at the LIbrary of Congress offers a David B. Larson Fellowship in Health and Spirituality made possible by a generous endowment from the International Center for the Integration of Health and Spirituality (ICIHS). Six to twelve months are available to work on projects that in some way encourage the pursuit of scholarly excellence in the scientific study of the relation of religiousness and spirituality to physical, mental, and social health. Deadline April 17.

The Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies offers applications for a humanities fellowship. Scholars from all social-science and humanities disciplines may apply. Fellowships are awarded for doctoral dissertation research as well as postdoctoral research which leads to completion of a monograph. Applications should include an explicit research proposal. Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study in Cambridge, MA, offers fellowships for resident research in the natural sciences and mathematics. Each application is reviewed in a dual-tiered process by peers in relevant disciplines. Quality and significance of the proposed project and the applicant's record of achievement and promise are both important. Stipend is for $65,000. Deadline is November 15.

Foundation for Child Development: Changing Faces of America's Children is taking applications for the 2009-2010 young scholars, Three to four fellowships of up to $150,000 for use over one to three years (maximum) will be awarded competitively. Young scholars must be 15 years or less from earning their doctorate. Please see web site for further information on eligibility and focus. November 4 Deadline.

American Council on Education Fellows Program. This program presents an effective learning process in educational leadership, administrative organization, and change strategies. Complex relationships on the administrative level are studied. The fellow works at a host institution to work on agendas they may be interested in developing at their own institution. The Diane Woest Fellowships in the Arts and Humanities, from the Historic New Orleans Collection, offer funds for scholarly research in the history and culture of Louisiana and the Gulf South. The fellowship began in 2006 and is open to those with doctorates. The collection's resources may be viewed online. Deadline November 1.

Frederick P. Lenz Fellowship for Buddhist Studies and American Culture and Values is offered at the Naropa University in Boulder, CO. The projects center around "investigating the ways in which contemplative approaches enrich higher education research, teaching, administration and campus life." Deadline November 1.

Quadrant Project research residencies focus on interdisciplinary scholarship in four areas at the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Minnesota. Application deadline is November 1.

School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, N.J. Applications can chose to focus on the topic of "Secularism". The application requires submission of a writing sample.  Deadline November 1st.

Dirksen Center. Michel Special Projects grants are intended to fund work that advances the public understanding of the federal legislature through research and teaching. These applications can be done at any time

Frederick and Florence Bauder Endowment for the Support of Physics Teaching funds physics teaching in developing countries. Future Physics Teachers helps three undergraduate physicists fund their education each year. must belong to the American Association of Physics Teachers. Application materials must be received by July 1st or December 1st. See web site for other opportunities

Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Minnesota created Quadrant through a grant from the Mellon Foundation in order to foster interdisciplinary research and publication in four areas: Design, Architecture, and Culture, Environment; Culture, and Sustainability; Global Cultures and Health and Society.  As part of this initiative the Mellon Foundation funds up to four external fellowships of up to one semester for individuals who participate in a Quadrant group. Deadline is November 20, 2009 for a $30,000 stipend with benefits for one semester.

National Research Council of the National Academies offers postdoctoral awards and senior research associates awards for the sciences of chemistry,earth, engineering, applied and computer sciences, life and medical sciences, mathematics, planetary science and physics. The Council offers Senior Research awards to conduct independent research in federal labs and affiliated institutions. Senior research awards may be for projects of less than 12 months duration and offer health insurance, travel allowances and relocation benefits. Scientists and engineers may apply for opportunities at three laboratories with one application. Annual stipends are from $38,000 - 65,000. Deadlines are February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1.

National Science Foundation seeks requests for funding to support international research and educational planning visits of from 7-14 days. Visits are to focus on the initial phases of developing and coordinating integrated research and education activities with foreign partners. Deadlines are February 20, May 20 and September 20 annually.
