The Office goals are:
- To serve as a comprehensive, institution-wide resource for identifying public and private grants and sponsored projects funding sources.
- To inform and educate faculty, staff and students as to grants and special projects funding availability, proposal writing techniques and regulatory developments.
- To promote the pursuit of, assist in the preparation of and oversee the submission of grants and sponsored projects proposals written to secure external funds.
- To provide authoritative advice on grants and sponsored projects regulations and administrative support to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
- To monitor federal regulatory changes and initiatives and develop and/or revise grants-related university-wide policies and procedures as needed to maintain institutional eligibility to receive federal grnats funds.
- To be an active participant in the university community and in activities that benefit the greater WInona community.
- To pursue opportunities for professional development .
- To monitor, assess and improve upon the quality of services provided.
The Grants and Sponsored Projects Office tailors services to provide faculty, staff and students as much (or as little) assistance as needed in terms of:
- funding source research
- contacting funding source staff
- providing information and education
- securing application materials
- analyzing proposal guidelines
- project planning
- proposal outlining
- providing institutional narrative
- providing editorial advice
- budget preparation
- securing institutional approvals
- production and packaging of proposals
- reviewing reports to funding sources
The mission of the Office of Grants &
Sponsored Projects is to support WSUians in seeking, securing and administering public and
private grants and sponsored projects agreements that contribute to individuals'
professional development, strengthen the quality of the institution's academic and support
programs, and enhance the stature of the University.
