Residential Facilities
Whether you are a school group looking for an educational environment, a sports camp seeking affordable rates, or a conference group in search of a convenient location, Winona State University’s residence halls are an ideal choice for overnight accommodations in the summer (mid-May through mid-August). We are capable of housing groups up to 1,000 people. Sheehan Hall: 264 West Mark Street Prentiss-Lucas Hall: 265 West King Street The Quad (Richards, Morey-Shepard, Conway Halls): 256 West King Street Lourdes Hall: 457 Gould Street Maria Hall: Hilbert Street Tau Center: 511 Hilbert Street University Apartments at East Lake: Corner of Franklin and Sarnia Streets Important Note: While most of our halls are ADA compliant, please arrange for accessible housing prior to arrival. What to Expect When You Arrive * Linen service is available to all groups who request it. Each participant will receive one pillow, one blanket, two sheets, one pillow case, one towel, and one washcloth. Sorry, we don’t make the beds except for at the University Apartments at East Lake! For groups staying for one week or longer, a linen exchange can be arranged. * Daily maid service is not provided. Rooms are cleaned prior to a group’s arrival. Common areas (bathrooms and lounges) are cleaned daily. * Telephones are only provided in the University Apartments at East Lake. A courtesy phone is available near each front desk area for local calls and toll-free calls. * None of the traditional residence halls are air conditioned. We suggest bringing a fan for your comfort. We also suggest bringing an alarm clock or some sort of alarm by which you can wake up. Front Desk Services Each residence hall has a front desk that can be open during hours specified by each group. The desk is staffed by friendly camp and conference staff who are current WSU students. They can help guests: * Check in and check out at designated times * Exchange linen if staying one week or longer * Obtain general information about the campus and the Winona area * Pick up and return room keys * Report maintenance and other room inconveniences * Retrieve messages and mail * Check out sporting equipment, movies, and/or cooking equipment to be used during free time Other Amenities Available Each traditional residence hall has vending machines, a central laundry room, kitchens and/or kitchenettes, lounges, and access to a sand volleyball court. The University Apartments have a laundry facility in each apartment and is located across from Lake Park which has softball fields, a Frisbee golf course, and a volleyball court nearby. Security in the Residence Halls Security is of utmost importance for each of our guests staying overnight. All residence hall exterior doors are locked by 11pm each night (or earlier if requested), and only those with a key can gain access. Many of these doors have alarms so they cannot be propped open. One of the conference staff also stays overnight each night there is a group staying in the residence halls in case of emergencies. They have been trained on the University’s emergency protocol.
