Registration Information
Attention UCR
students: Winona State University- Rochester Center (WSU-RC) shares administrative
tasks and other functions with Rochester Community and Technical College
and the University of Minnesota at the University Center Rochester campus.
If it is necessary for the employee to provide services to the student,
educational records of students taking classes at the UCR campus may be
made available to employees of these other two institutions while the
student is attending the UCR campus.
How
To Register
Registration for classes may be done via the World Wide Web or through
staff-assisted registration at the WSU-RC Student Services desk during
regular office hours. Instructions for WEB registration are found on the
internet at: www.winona.edu/registration.asp
WEB registration may be completed at any computer with access to
the Internet to reach the WSU homepage.
How
to Register for Permission Required and Closed Classes
Instructors of these classes may choose either to give you permission
by entering your Warrior ID in the computer (the instructor will not be
registering you in the class but will be giving authorization for you
to enroll in the class), or by giving you a "Class Permit" slip with his/her
signature on it. Use WEB registration if he/she gives you permission via
the computer. If he/she gives you a "Class Permit" slip, you will need
to present the permission slip to the WSU-RC Student Services desk in
order to register for the class.
How
Do I Register for an Arranged Class, Independent Study or Internship
These courses may now be registered for either on the WEB or with staff
assistance in the appropriate office. To register on the WEB, you will
need the six-digit course ID number. After the Dean's Office has processed
your application, a copy of the form will be returned to the Department
Office and you can contact that office to find out the course ID number.
Completing the appropriate registration form and submitting it to the
WSU-RC Student Services desk can also accomplish registration.
Closed Classes
If you attempt to register and the class is full, you may contact the instructor to request permission to enroll. If the instructor agrees to let you register, he/she can either enter your Warrior ID in the computer (the instructor will not be registering you in the class but will be giving authorization for you to enroll in the class"), or give you a blue "Class Permit" slip with her/his signature on it. Use WEB registration if she/he gives you permission via the computer. If he/she gives you a "Class Permit" slip, you will need to present the permission slip to the WSU-RC Student Services desk.
