Driving directions to Winona State University
To get to Winona State University, from Minneapolis-St. Paul:
Follow Highway 61 South into Winona. Proceed to the fifth stoplight (at Huff Street). Take a left turn onto Huff Street. (You will see a sign that says "Winona State University.") Follow Huff Street to the next stoplight and take a right onto Sarnia Street. Go three blocks to a 4-way stop and take a left onto Main Street. Go two blocks to Mark (11th) Street and take a left onto Mark. The entrance to the Purple and Gold Parking Lots are on the right.*
To get to Winona State University, from Madison, Milwaukee or Chicago:
Take Interstate 90/94 West to La Crosse, Wisconsin, and into Minnesota. Take the "Winona" exit onto Highway 61 and follow this into Winona. Stay on Highway 61 North until you reach the stoplight at Huff Street. (You will see a sign that says "Winona State University"). Turn right onto Huff Street. Follow Huff Street to the next stoplight and take a right onto Sarnia Street. To get to Winona State University, from the west (Rochester, Owatonna, Mankato) via U.S. Highway 14:
Take U.S. Highway 14 East into Winona. Turn right onto Highway 14/61. Follow Highway 61 until you reach the stoplights at Huff Street. (You will see a sign that says "Winona State University.") Turn left onto Huff Street. Follow Huff Street to the next stoplight and take a right onto Sarnia Street. Go three blocks to a 4-way stop and take a left onto Main Street. To get to Winona State University, from the west (Austin, Albert Lea, Worthington) via Interstate 90:
Take I-90 East to the Highway 43 North exit (#252.) Turn left onto Highway 43 which will bring you into Winona. At the stoplight, turn left onto County 17 (Homer Road) and go until you reach the next stoplight. Turn left onto Highway 61 North and follow until you reach the next stoplight at Huff Street. (You will see a sign that says "Winona State University.") Turn right onto Huff Street. Follow Huff Street to the next stoplight and take a right onto Sarnia Street. Go three blocks to a 4-way stop and take a left onto Main Street. Go two blocks to Mark (11th) Street and take a left onto Mark. The entrance to the Purple and Gold Parking Lots are on the right.*
To get to Winona State University, from the north and east via WI 35/54 (Wisconsin Great River Road) and over the Winona Mississippi River Bridge into the city:
If approaching Winona on the Wisconsin side via WI 35/54, turn toward the Mississippi River and Winona at the stoplight. While crossing the bridge, WI 54 becomes MN 43. At the base of the bridge, follow Hwy 43 turning left on 4th St. West for three blocks. Turn right on Main Street and go eight blocks. Turn right on Mark (11th Street). The entrance to the purple and gold parking lots are on your right.*
