  • August 20 – First-Year Student Move-In Day
  • August 21-23 – New Student Orientation (freshman and transfer)

Q: How do I know if I'm admitted?

A: If you applied online log back into your account for status updates. You will receive an admissions decision letter in the mail within about 3 weeks of the date when all application materials are complete. You can also contact us or call 507.457.5100. Because of privacy laws, we need to communicate with you directly and cannot share some information with your parent or guardian.

Q: How do I change my info?

A: If you want to update your address, phone number, major, or other information, please don’t fill out another application. Just call 507.457.5100 or email us.

Q: How do transfers enroll?

A: New incoming transfer students are required to attend an enrollment program, during which you enroll for classes with an academic advisor, receive your laptop and training, create your student ID card, and learn about support services. This information is mailed to you after you are admitted.

Q: What about laptops?

A: Winona State was one of the first universities to require all full-time students to own and use a laptop. Your laptop (PC or Mac) includes hardware and software, training, and technical support. It’s a program we call eWarrior: Digital Life and Learning. New and transfer students receive their laptops when they register for their first year.
