Next Steps for Admitted Students

Follow these steps to guide you through enrollment at Winona State.


 

Important Dates & Deadlines

Use this timeline for important dates to keep on track.


 

New Student Enrollment

New students are required to attend an orientation program, where you’ll register for classes with an academic advisor, receive your laptop, create your student ID card, learn about support services, and take placement tests. There is also information for families. Information is mailed to you after you are admitted.


 

Student eServices

Student eServices provides the information and features you need to conduct business on campus. Register for housing and dining, check financial aid awards, find courses, register for classes, monitor academic progress, and pay bills. You will receive login information when you register for classes the first time.  

Assistance for Academic Success

Learn about special programs to help you succeed such as tutoring services, TRiO/student support services and Inclusion and Diversity mentoring programs.


 

Keep Contact Information Current

Various offices will continue to communicate with you over the next few months. It’s important to keep your mailing and email addresses and phone number up-to-date with our office. Call us (507.457.5100) or email us to update your information.


 

Credit for Prior Learning

Students can earn credit through Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam scores. Post-Secondary Educational Option (PSEO) courses also transfer to WSU.

Transfer students receive a DARS report when admitted that shows how credits transfer to WSU.


 

Financial Aid

All students must complete the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for a number of assistance programs. Complete the FAFSA preferably as soon as it is posted on January 1 (WSU code: 002394).

Housing and Residence Life

Living on campus is exciting, convenient, and affordable. WSU Housing and Residence Life offers resources and experiences that complement students’ academic work. Research shows that the more than 2,500 students who live on campus are more satisfied with their college experience.
