The mission of Career Services is to provide exceptional service in collaboration with faculty and staff and to more fully engage each student in defining his or her own pathway for success through a seamless, individualized four-year career development process.  This will contribute to:  student satisfaction, student retention, opportunities for internships and work experiences while in school, enhanced employer relations, and expanded opportunities for the world of work or graduate school after graduation.

Career Services staff provide a wide array of services to assist students in defining their pathway to success including Discover Career Guidance and Information Systems to assist in major selection, job outlook information, electronic job searching assistance and electronic credentials, electronic portfolio development, mock interviews, on-campus interviews for full time permanent positions and internships, a centralized electronic listing of on and off campus work study and student help positions, summer employment, and part-time area employment opportunities.  In addition, Career Services provides individual career advising, resume and cover letter development, and assistance with major selection and career direction.  Students also receive the Career Notes newsletter and are invited to attend workshops, special events, and career/job fairs both on and off campus.

Upon registration for service, students receive their own copy of a job and internship search handbook along with other information to assist in their job and/or internship search.  First year students receive the Academic and Career Planning Guide through their respective orientation class.  This guide outlines the four step process to career development and provides a list of resources to assist students in positioning themselves for success at WSU.
