Transfer Student Orientation Welcome Week

Welcome to Winona State University, we are glad you’re here!

Starting at a new college is exciting and challenging, so we have created Welcome Week Orientation to help you navigate the process and meet other new students. Transfer student Welcome Week Orientation is Aug. 18-23, 2015.

If you are a transfer student living on campus, we strongly recommend you register for Welcome Week. Our Welcome Week Program will provide you with critical information related to college success and campus policies. Welcome Week is also full of fun activities to help you meet other students and learn about your new campus. A few of the activities include movies, live music, a hypnotist, courtyard games and others. The Fall 2015 Orientation Schedule (PDF) will help you keep track of all the events going on.

Registration for Welcome Week is easy! Email Darcie Mueller at dmueller@winona.edu and ask to register, providing your full name.

Meet Your Leaders

Chelsea Danielsen

My name is Chelsea Danielsen and in fall of 2013, I was a transfer student new to the campus and the state of Minnesota. I am a double major in Special Education: Learning Disabilities and Developmental Disabilities.

My experience here at Winona State has been wonderful. People on and off campus a very accepting and friendly, which makes it really easy for a shy person like me to break out of my shell. I like to attend club meetings and work out in my spare time on campus, and I’m looking forward to meeting all of you this fall.

Edgar Garcia Welcome to Winona State! My name is Edgar Garcia and I am a junior, majoring in Business Administration. As a former transfer student myself, I remember what it was like to start at a new school, and will be able to help you figure out Winona State.
Josh Hanson  Hi!  My name is Josh Hanson and I am junior at Winona State.  I am majoring in Social Science History Teaching.  Welcome Week Orientation is a great experience, where students get a chance to make friends and learn all about WSU and the Winona area.  I look forward to seeing you all in August.
Once you register, you will be able to access your Welcome Week schedule using our free orientation app. A $25 fee will be posted on your student account, which covers the costs of meals and events for the week. You will also be placed in a group with other transfer students, and will have an assigned leader to help you navigate Welcome Week events together.
