Vittorio Colaizzi holds an MFA in painting and a PhD in Art History, both from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has published criticism and essays in Art Papers, Smithsonian's American Art, and Woman's Art Journal. He is currently preparing a monograph for Phaidon on Robert Ryman, as well as an anthology of critical writing about this artist. Research interests include modern and contemporary abstract painting, particularly its formal and signifying properties in a post-Greenberg, post-appropriation climate. His work has been exhibited in Richmond, VA and Brooklyn. |
