Alicia L. Conroy
Alicia L. Conroy publishes fiction, feature articles and reviews. Conroy worked in Boston for 13 years and now works as an English and writing instructor and freelance writer in her hometown of Minneapolis. She received an MFA in creative writing from Bowling Green State University and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College. Other awards include a 2005 Honorable Mention in the Pushcart Prizes, the Denny Prize for distinguished faculty writing given by the College of St. Catherine, and the Devine Fellowship in Creative Writing at Bowling Green State University as well as a Jerome Foundation travel grant. Her first book, the story collection Lives of Mapmakers, was published this year by Carnegie Mellon Univ. Press (June 2006). Conroy lives in Minneapolis.
