Warrior Study Tables
Study Table Voucher
The mission of Warrior Study Tables is to guide a student into becoming a self-guided learner. A Warrior Study Table is a structured study session where student-athletes are offered a quiet room to focus on their studies. Academic tutors will be available during some of the study table sessions. Check Academic Support Times on the Warrior Study Table webpage for availability. If a student-athlete needs a tutor, he or she should contact the athletic department academic advisor as soon as possible to set up a tutoring session.
Check the WSU Study Tables Schedule for Times and Locations
Student-athletes may attend a study session for a maximum of two hours. There is no minimum amount a student-athletes need to be present. If a student-athlete only has 30 minutes free to study between classes, 30 minutes will be counted to the student-athlete’s weekly total. The staff understands that student-athletes have busy schedules. We encourage student-athletes to come in often for shorter periods of time during the week acquire their total hours.
WSU Study Tables are supervised by athletic staff members who are willing to help you with your studies and enforce academic study rules. The following rules apply to all students attending WSU Study Tables:
- Every time you attend study tables, you must check in with the study tables monitor by leaving your university identification card. Your time begins when you leave your card, and your time ends when you return to retrieve your card after your session.
- The Academic Study is for serious study only. You must bring appropriate study material. If you behave inappropriately during the sessions, you will be removed and your time will not count. Inappropriate materials and behaviors include talking, sleeping, reading nonacademic magazines, letter writing, nonacademic internet use, instant messaging, and any behavior found disruptive by the study tables monitor.
- Teams traveling may have the opportunity to accrue study hall hours if their coach supervises study hall sessions. Please check with your coach to determine if your team will have the opportunity to have study sessions while traveling.
The following penalties will be enforced if a student behaves inappropriately during any Academic Study Session:
- First Violation: The student-athlete's identification card will be returned and the student will not be allowed to log any further time for that day.
- Second Violation: The student-athlete will be ejected from study hall. The student's identification card will be delivered to the Warrior Academic Advisor by the athletic staff on duty. The student will be instructed to report to the Warrior Academic Advisor to retrieve the card the next day. Disciplinary action will be taken.
- Third Violation: The student-athlete will meet with Warrior Academic Advisor and head coach to determine disciplinary action.
