WSU Rolls To Season-Opening Win

Jenna Southworth WINONA, MN -- Winona State University turned in one of its best ever performances at the Saint Mary's Invitational by coming in with five of the seven top runners to finish the race in first place.

Sophomore, Jenna Southworth paced the WSU attack by winning as the only runner in the 52-runner field to come in under 20 minutes with a top time of 19:56.

Junior, Steph Smith followed the Warrior parade with a third-place time of 20:48.3, while, junior, Allie Glasbrenner (21:03.6), sophomore, Madeline Heinrich (21:06.7) and, freshman, Amy Pawelko (21:12.0) placed fifth through seventh respectively.

Adding to the WSU efforts were top-20 finishers, sophomore, Michelle Jeske (21:43.8) in 11th, sophomore, Kelly Rieber (22:12.4) and, freshman, Karla Bennett (22:34.1) in 19th.
