Story by: WSU Sports Information

ST. PAUL, MN -- Former Winona State University head baseball coach Gary Grob has been selected by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to be a member of the 2006 NSIC Hall of Fame inductees.

Grob will join six inductees during ceremonies that will be held in conjunction with the NSIC's seventh-annual Summer Kickoff July 28th at the Best Western Kelly Inn and St. Cloud, MN Convention Center.

Grob's 41-year career at Winona State spanned six decades as student, player, assistant coach, head coach and instructor. He is Minnesota's all-time leader in collegiate victories and is still among the top ten for NCAA Division II wins and is one of the 50 in all of NCAA baseball to reach 1,000 or more victories.

Grob guided the Warrior program to 17 conference championships and a 441-143 league record. Grob teams also played in the NAIA World Series and appeared in three NCAA regional tournaments.

Grob has also been inducted to the NAIA and American Baseball Coach's Association Halls of Fame.
