Barrone Garners More Postseason Awards

PITTSBURG, KS-- Winona State University catcher Ben Barrone has been named NCAA Division II Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association.
It marks the second time Barrone has gained player of the year honors -- previously selected by Rawlings/ABCA.
Barrone was also name to the NCBWA' First Team All-American squad. For Barrone it became the third jewel in the triple crown of All-America honors -- Barrone was also selected First Team All-America by Rawlings/ABCA and Daktronics.
Barrone is the only player in WSU baseball history to be named national player of the year and to be selected to three All-America first teams in the same year.
