Warriors Swept By Upper Iowa

FAYETTE, IA -- Winona State University lost a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader, 10-2 and 5-3, to Upper Iowa University.

In the first game UIU scored single runs in each of the first three innings and then followed up with three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth.

WSU had only six hits in the contest with Ben Smothers collecting two.

In the nightcap, WSU managed just four hits with Sam Hendriksen banging out two.

The Warriors came back with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game at 2-2 before UIU added three runs in the sixth. WSU did tack on a lone run in the top of the seventh.
