WINONA, MN -- Winona State University used nine different pitchers and held on for a 5-3 nonconference win over Viterbo University at Loughrey Field.
The victory closed out the regular season for the Warriors, who had built a 5-0 lead before the VHawks came up with three unearned runs in the top of the nineth. The VHawks had the tieing runners on base with two outs after scoring those runs, but Evan Buhr, the ninth WSU pitcher to see action, came on to get the last out and notch the win.
Ronnie Olson had a pair of hits, scored a run and also drove in a run to led the WSU offense.
WSU scored twice in the third and sixth innings and added an insurance run in the last of the seventh.
