Abbott Tabbed Player Of The Week

WESTMONT, IL -- Winona State University's, junior, placekicker, Ryan Abbott has been named Don's Hansen's Football Gazette Division II National Special Teams Player of the Week.

Abbott converted all eight of his extra-point attempts and a 42-yard field goal try in the Warriors' 59-34 win over Wayne State College, NE.

Abbott's effort in the Merchants Bank/Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Metrodome Classic helped No. 19 Winona State win the NSIC championship outright, extend its winning streak to nine games and improve its record to 10-1.

Abbott was also named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week.
