Former Warrior Standout Garners Indoor League Honors

BOARDMAN, OH -- Former Winona State University football standout, John Tackmann, was named US Army Ironman of the Week for the Arena Football 2 League for the week of April 1, 2008. Tackmann, listed as a wide receiver/linebacker, played Jack Linebacker and saw some action at quarterback for the Mahoning Valley Thunder in the season opener.

Putting up impressive numbers for the Thunder, Tackmann served as holder on all kick attempts, had six and a half tackles to lead the team, rushed for 25 yards on five carries and scored touchdowns on three of those five carries. Those three rushing touchdowns led the league on the weekend.
