Spring Game Ends Practice Sessions

WINONA, MN -- The 2007-2008 football season came to an end for Winona State University with the annual Spring Game.
Two squads were made up with the Purple Squad coming away the victors.
Curtis Drewberry scored on an eight-yard run for the Purple Squad's first score, while Tyree Burks hauled in a 17-yard TD pass from Greg Preston for the other score. Alex Minnaert kicked both extra points and added a 37-yard field goal.
Drewberry also came up with an 88-yard kickoff return score for the White Squad and Amir Ross scampered in from nine yards out for the other score.
On the day Ross was 12-23 for 124 yards with one interceptionon. Preston finished the day with 8 completitions in 15 attempts with 1 interception and 114 yards.
Leading rusher on the day was Darren Davis with 11 carries for 49 yards.
The top receiver was Brandon Stanek with four catches for 45 yards.
The Purple Squad picked off four passes. Ryan Jirgl nabbed two and Derek LaBrock and John Solan had the other picks.
