Warriors Get The Best Of Blugolds

EAU CLAIRE, WI -- Winona State University swept the top three places in both the vault and balance beam in besting the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 179.275-175.400 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition.

Freshman, Melissa Baudhuin paced the Warriors by competing and winning her first collegiate all-around meet. Baudhuin won the all-around with a 36.075 total, which included first-place finishes of 9.350 on the balane beam and 9.325 on the floor exercise and a third-place 9.200 on the vault.

The Warrior vaulting sweep was led by Alexandra Nugent, who came up with a 9.375 and finished second in the all-around with a 3.550. Heather Rummelein was WSU's second-place finisher on the vault with a 9.300.

Winona State actually grabbed the top six places on the beam, as Eileen Strube was second with a 9.300, Katie Gregory came in third with 9.200 and Jessica Hinckley was fourth with a 9.100. Coming in fifth on the beam was Amanda Cotter (8.95) and Nugent was sixth with a 8.900.

WSU ended up sweeping all the individual honors as Cotter won on the uneven parallel bars with a 9.075 and Katie Goldeman was third with 8.800.

Rounding out the top three performances for WSU was Renae Lee with a third on the floor exercise with an 8.950.
