WSU 2nd At Best Of Minnesota

Melissa Baudhuin MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Winona State University turned in one of its all-time high team scores on the vault and went on to place second in the four-team Best of Minnesota held at the University of Minnesota.

The Warriors recorded a season best team score with an 186.375, while the University of Minnesota won the meet with a 194.275 before a crowd of 2,685.

Winona State completed the vaulting competition with a 47.050 total, sixth best in the program's history.

Heading the Warriors was Alexandra Nugent, who came up with a career best of 37.725 to place third in the all-around. She tied for fourth on the vault with a season-best 9.600 and in the floor exercise with a 9.575.

Joining Nugent in the all-around was Melissa Baudhuin, who came up with three career bests, including a 37.675 in her second collegiate all-around meet. She also tied with Nugent on the vault and in the floor exercise and tied for sixth on the balance beam with a 9.475.

Overall the Warriors recorded nine career bests and ten single-season bests in the meet.
