Warriors No. 1 In Preseason Poll

BEAVERTON, OR -- Division II Bulletin has come out with its 2007 Preseason Top 25 poll and has ranked Winona State University No. 1.

The Division II Bulletin poll was one of two preseason polls to come out and Winona State was ranked No. 2 in The Sporting News 2007-08 Men's College Basketball Review edition.

The Warriors are coming off a 35-1 season and a national runner-up finish in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight Tournament. Bentley, MA, whose only loss in 33 games last year was to Winona State, is second, while Barton, College, NC, the team that beat the Warriors in last year's national championship game, is ranked No. 8.

The University of South Dakota is the No. 1 pick in The Sporting News poll. The Coyotes, who return their top ten players, lost in last year's regional tournament hosted by Winona State.
