Warriors Tumble To No. 7
Story by: Winona State Sports Information Office
ROLLA, MO -- Winona State University suffered its first regular-season loss in nearly two years and consequently fell to No. 7 in the latest NABC/Division II Coaches Poll.
The Warriors lost to the University of St. Thomas, MN 83-82 in overtime and had their 36-game home winning streak and 43-game regular-season winning steak snapped.
The loss also dropped the Warriors from their No. 1 perch in the poll that they sat on for nearly the past two seasons.
Bentley, MA, a team WSU defeated in the opening round of last year's NCAA Division II Elite Eight, took over the top ranking.
