Story by: Winona State Sports Information Office

Quincy Henderson WINONA, MN -- A 7-0 run to start the second half helped lift No. 5-ranked Winona State University to an 84-58 win over the Upper Iowa University in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play at McCown Gymnasium.

The Warriors struggled in the first half as the game was tied at 34 with 2:56 left in the opening period. But from there WSU went on a 9-2 run for a 43-36 halftime lead and then scored the first seven point of the second half to pretty well put the game out of reach. The Warriors went on to build their biggest lead at 27 points with an 81-54 score and 2:38 left to play.

John Smith and Quincy Henderson each scored 16 points to lead the Warriors and David Johnson followed with 15 points.

Henderson rounded out a double-double evening with ten rebounds and the Warriors outrebounded the Peacocks 37-28.

The win was the 33rd consecutive straight for the Warriors in conference play.
