WINONA, MN -- Winona State University scored the last nine points of the game and came up with a 76-65 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win over Southwest Minnesota State University at McCown Gymnasium.
The No. 5-ranked Warriors were threatened by the Mustangs, who trail by only two points, 67-65, with 2:38 to play. During the game the scored was tied four times and the lead changed hands nine times only to have the Warriors lead 36-33 at halftime and outscore the Mustangs 40-32 in the second half.
For the third straight game the Warriors had five players finish in double figures, led by the 18 points from John Smith, who had his third straight double-double game by adding 11 rebounds.
Henderson finished the game with 15 points, Jonte Flowers came up with 13, David Johnson rounded out the starters in double figures with 11 and Robinson came off the bench to score 10 points.
