Warriors Burst Out Of The Blocks In NSIC Win

WINONA, MN -- No. 3-ranked Winona State University burst out of the blocks and scored the first 18 points of the game and held the University of Minnesota, Crookston scoreless in over eight and a half minutes of opening play to head to a 77-48 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win at McCown Gymnasium.
The win extended the Warriors' NSIC winning streak to 38 games and their season winning streak to 13 games. WSU is also 92-8 over the last 100 games.
After the quick start the Warriors held a 40-25 lead at half time and then further shut down the Golden Eagles by holding them to only 23 points in the last 20 minutes of play.
The Warriors finished with four players in double figures led by 14 points from Josh Korth, who came off the bench. Starters Quincy Henderson and Travis Whipple scored 12 and 10 points respectively and Curtrel Robinson also came off the bench to tally 11 points.
Although the Warriors were outrebounded 55-44, John Smith finished with 10 rebounds. Smith added six blocked shots to the win.
