WSU Ends NSIC First Half Perfect At 9-0

David Johnson WINONA, MN -- Winona State University ended the first half of the 2007-2008 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season with a perfect 9-0 record by defeating Bemidji State University 78-48 in McCown Gymnasium.

The victory for the No. 3 ranked Warriors extended their NSIC winning streak to 39 games and their season winning streak to 14 games, while giving them a 92-8 record in their last 100 games.

Senior, center, All-America, John Smith led the Warriors with a double-double by pulling down 14 rebounds and netting 25 points. WSU also got 11 points from David Johnson and Josh Korth came off the bench to score 10 points.

WSU outrebounded BSU 49-37.

The Warriors were 15-of-19 from the charity stripe and 9-of-20 from three-point field goal range.
