WAYNE, NE -- The No. 3-ranked Winona State University Warriors scored the first five points of the game and then set sail to an overpowering 82-60 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win over Wayne State College.
The win ran the Warriors' NSIC winning streak to 42 games and season winning streak to 18 games, while leaving them 92-8 over the past 100 games.
Jonte Flowers and John Smith turned in sterling performances for the Warriors, who took that early lead and ran it up to a 50-33 lead by halftime and to 64-40 in the first four and a half minutes of the second half.
Flowers finished the game with a double-double, hitting the boards for 12 rebounds and netting 26 points. He went on to round out his game with four assists, one blocked shot and two steals.
Smith totaled 20 points with five rebounds, three assists, one blocked shot and one steal.
Curtrel Robinson rounded out the double-figure scoring for the Warriors by coming off the bench to record ten points.
The Warriors did most of their damage from the field, converting on 29-of-58 shots, including a qualify 10-of-23 from three-point field goal range.
