Henderson Selected To NSIC Hall Of Fame

ST. CLOUD, MN -- Former Winona Sate University head cross country coach and Warrior runner Daryl Henderson has been inducted into the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Hall of Fame.

Henderson was one of five individuals inducted as the Class of 2007 NSIC Hall of Fame.

As a WSU athlete Henderson was an eight-time all-conference selection in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field. Henderson captured conference cross country championships in 1976 and 1977 and earned NAIA All-American honors in 1977. He would add a seventh-place finish in the 1500-meter run at the 1977 NAIA outdoor track and field championships and was 11th in the 5000-meter run at the 1978 NCAA Division II outdoor track and field championships.

Henderson also was successful as the Warrior cross country coach, leading WSU to a 1988 league championship and was named the league and NAIA District 13 Coach of the Year. The Warriors went on to place 12th at the 1988 NAIA cross country championships.
