Warriors Finished Fourth At Regional Tournament

JOPLIN, MO -- Winona State University concluded the three-day, 54-hole, Super Regional at the Twin Hills Golf and Country Club in fourth place.

The Warriors bettered their third-day play with a 301 total and finished the tournament with a 901, two strokes behind third-place University of Central Missouri. WSU was also six strokes behind Missouri Southern State College and 23 strokes behind the winning team from Washburn University, KS.

Matt Horel and Bret Toftness continued to be twin players for the Warriors as they each shot rounds of 75 on the final day to finish with identical scores each day and with a 223 for the tournament. That effort left the Warriors tied for eighth place, ten strokes off the winning pace of 213 in the field of 45.

Kevin Loeffler posted a 77 and fell from a tie for eighth to a tie for 14th with a 226, while Brad Strangstalien had the top score of the day for WSU with a 74 and moved from a tie for 25th to a tie for 19th with a 229.

Ross Jacobucci rounded out the Warrior play with an 80 and tied for 38th with a 238.
