WSU Upended By Emporia State, KS

TOPEKA, KS -- Winona State University came up with a pair of wins in singles competition in a 7-2 loss to Emporia State University, KS.
The wins for the Warriors came from Taylor Rens and Joel Shields at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively with both needing to go to the super tiebreaker.
Rens had the tougher of the two WSU wins as he need to go to tiebreakers in each set. Rens lost the first set 7-6 (12-10) before posting a 7-6 (7-5) win in the second set. Rens then came up with a 10-3 decision in the super tiebreaker.
For Shields, he won his first set 6-4 and lost the second 6-2 and then won the super tiebreaker 10-3.
