WINONA, MN -- Winona State University ended its exhibition season with a 4-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in play held on Maxwell Field at Midwest Wireless Stadium.
Winona State scored two goals in each of the halves, as Gina Florian led the Warriors with a goal and an assist.
Florian got the Warriors going quickly when she scored just ten seconds into the match. From there Florian assisted on the next goal, which was scored by Holly Sutton at the 5:33 mark. Amelia Kasten also assisted on the goal.
In the second half Heidi Woerle and Kayla Walters each scored, with Kara Fritze assisting on Woerle's goal and Walters scoring unassisted.
Amanda Diehm and Brooke Sherer split the halves in the nets for the Warriors. Diehm came up with a single save in the first half, while Sherer collected three saves in the final 45 minutes of play.
For the game, WSU outshot UWSP 18-10.
