No. 7 Warriors Blanked
Story by: Winona State Sports Information Office
ST. PAUL, MN -- Winona State University gave up a goal in just under 30 minutes of the second and failed to find the equaling goal in dropping a 1-0 decision to Concordia University St. Paul in nonconference play.
The Warriors, freshly ranked No. 7 in the latest NSCAA/adidas Top 25 poll, put up 16 shots and six on goal only to continue its drought in the goal department. WSU opened its season with four goals in a win over St. Cloud State University but in the next three matches has been able to find the back of the net only once, which came in the 1-0 win over then No. 1-ranked Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Amanda Kramer, who came in relief of starting goal keeper Amanda Diehm just 7:19 into the match, made five stops while giving up what proved to be the winning goal at 73:10 of the match.
