Warriors Turn Away Wayne State, NE

Gina Florian vs WSC WINONA, MN -- Amelia Kasten scored a goal in each half to lead Winona State University to a 5-0 win over Wayne State College, NE on Maxwell Field at Alltel Stadium.

It was the fifth straight win for the Warriors -- all five by shutouts.

Kasten scored the Warriors' first goal at 7:16 on an assist from Holly Sutton and recorded WSU's fourth goal at the 87:12 mark on an assist from Lauren Sturdivant. Sturdivant then would tally Winona State's last goal, 30 seconds later from an assist from Gina Florian.

The second first-half goal by the Warriors came on a shot by Kallie Tellefsen, who took a pass from Cori Beard on the scoring play.

The other WSU goal was the first of the second half. Sutton scored, hooking up on a pass from Kayla Walters.

Amanda Diehm played in the nets in the first half for Winona State and was not required to make a save. Amanda Kramer then played in goal for WSU for the final 45 minutes and came up with one save.

Winona State outshot WSC 28-2.
