WSU Runs Shuout Streak To Six

Martha Curtiss WINONA, MN -- Winona State University ran its shutout streak to six matches with a 1-0 win over Southwest Minnesota State University in nonconference play on Maxwell Field at Alltel Stadium.

Holly Sutton tallied the only goal for the Warriors when she scored off passes from Gina Florian and Michelle Shannon at the 19:05 mark of the first half.

WSU goal keeper Amanda Diehm extended her streak without allowing a goal to 631 minutes by coming up with two saves.

The Winona State defense was also up to the task by allowing SMSU only three total shots.
