Warriors Blank MSUM Dragons

WINONA, MN -- Winona State University closed out its regular-season home schedule with a 5-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win over Minnesota State University Moorhead on Maxwell Field at Alltel Stadium.
The Warriors got out to a quick start with two goals in a span of 38 seconds. Gina Florian began the scoring at 5:16 and then Holly Sutton followed up the first of her two goals at 5:54.
WSU closed out the first half with a 4-0 lead, as Leslie Schumacher scored at 23:45 and then Sutton added her second goal at 25:20.
Rounding out the goal-scoring for the Warriors was Amelia Kasten at 65:10.
Lindsay Opgenorth and Kayla Walters also were credited with assists on the day.
The WSU defense allowed MSUM a total of only four total shots with Warrior goal keeper Amanda Diehm earning the shutout by making three saves.
