Sutton Named Offensive Player Of The Year

Holly Sutton ST. PAUL, MN -- Winona State University's, senior, forward, Holly Sutton has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year in postseason honors announced by the league.

Sutton heads a list of six Warrior players who received honors. Sutton, who was named to the All-Conference team for a third straight year, is joined by, defensive player, Heidi Woerle and, midfielder, Kallie Tellefsen on the league's first team, while, goal keeper, Amanda Diehm, midfielder, Leslie Schumacher and, forward, Amelia Kasten were all tabbed to the Second Team.

Aside from Sutton, it marked the second consecutive year that Diehm and Kasten received All-Conference honors.

Sutton led the league in points, points per game, goals, goals per game, assists, assists per game and game-winning goals.

Schumacher was among the top five in points, points per game, goals and goals per game and Tellefsen was in the top ten for league assists and assists per game.

Diehm, the top goal keeper in Division II, was second in goals allowed average (0.35) and third in save percentage (8.95).
