Warriors No. 2 Pick In Preseason

ST. PAUL, MN -- Winona State University is the No. 2 pick of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference softball coaches in the 2008 preseason poll.

The Warriors received three first-place votes and came up with 84 points, three points behind No. 1 pick Southwest Minnesota State University, which received seven first-place votes and totaled 87 points.

The Warriors tied SMSU for the regular-season league crown last year before losing to the Mustangs in the conference tournament championship game. WSU then went on to play in the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament.

WSU, senior, outfielder and catcher, Chelsea Rosenow and, senior, pitcher, Kristen Fossell both were named players to watch in the NSIC.
