Warriors Record Sweep

OCOEE, FL -- Winona State University's pitching staff came to the fore as the Warriors recorded a doubleheader sweep over Northwestern College by scores of 1-0 and 5-0.

The Warriors' Kristen Fossell and Stacey Struzynski each turned in three-hit performances in notching complete-game wins, while posting 21 strikeouts -- Fossell finished with 9 strikeouts, while Struzynski fanned 12. Struzynski gave up the only walk the WSU duo issued.

In the opener the lone WSU run came in the sixth inning as Mollie Bjelland singled to drive in Chelsea Rosenow.

In the second game WSU put the game on ice with three runs in the second and added the icing to the win with two more runs in the fourth.

Jenny Wilmes paced the Warriors' offense with three hits and a run batted in and Rosenow came up with two hits and a RBI.
