Warriors Close Out League Play With Wins

BISMARCK, ND -- Winona State University closed out its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season with a 12-0, five-inning, win over Bemidji State Univeristy and a 9-2 win over Northern State University on the second day of the NSIC Crossover Tournament.
Stacey Struzynski and Kristen Fossell and back-to-back three hitters for the Warriors. Struzysniked hurled all five innings of the game with BSU, walking one and striking out five, while Fossell pitched six innings, walked one and struck out six in the win over NSU.
Chelsea Rosenow hit a solo home run and Laura Wright slugged a three-run round tripper for the Warriors against Bemidji State. Terra Halron totaled three hits and two runs scored, while Rosenow and Jenny Wilmes had two hits apiece. Wright finished with four runs batted in.
In the game with Northern State, Wilmes had a leadoff home run in the second and Callie Givens hit a two-run homer in the sixth. Wilmes finished with three hits and three runs batted in, while Halron, Rosenow, Annie Stuedemann and Givens all had two hits.
