King, Magnuson Garner All-America Status

Story by: Winona State Sports Information Office

METAIRIE, LA -- Winona State University's seniors Emily King and Bria Magnuson have earned All-America status by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their efforts in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championships.

King captured the Division II national championship in the 20-pound weight throw with a throw of 60-feet, 9 1/2-inches, while Magnuson placed third in the pole vault by coming in at a WSU school record height of 12-feet, 8 3/4-inches.

The duo combined to total 16 team points in the national championships and allowed the Warriors to finish tied for tenth place.

It is the second year in a row King has received the All-America honors. Last year King placed second in the national championships.

King, in the hammer throw, and Magnuson, again in the pole vault, also earned All-America status in last year's NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
